Okamoto's works are works that children draw.
How to destroy realism in painting expression is an issue from the 19th century, and attention is gathered even in the future art scene.
As contemporary Japanese anime and illustrations are established in the art scene, considering the way of expression of painting in the future, works drawn by Okamoto will attract a truly challenging and unique interest.
今まで制作してきた作品を一度塗りつぶし新たに新作を生み出す試みから、作品たちに対する「ありがとう」という気持ちと塗りつぶしてごめんなさいという「謝る」気持ちより付けらたタイトルです。
おかもとの描く作品は一見子どもが描いたような作品群です。
絵画表現において、いかに写実性を崩すかは印象派以降の課題であり20世紀にはパブロ・ピカソがこれの完成系ともなる作品を仕上げ、やがて抽象絵画というジャンルが確立されていきます。
現代の日本のアニメやイラストがアートシーンでも確立されてきた中で今後の絵画表現の行方を考察すると、おかもとの描く作品は実に挑戦的でユニークな興味を惹きつけます。
